Easter Weekend is Packed Full of Spring Fever Events!

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. — April 3, 2012 — With a gentle snow falling at Breckenridge Ski Resort this morning, it’s easy to remember why spring in Breck offers some of the best skiing and riding in Colorado this time of year. Breck has over 1,800 acres of terrain still open and plenty of Spring Fever Events to come.
This weekend features two signature events, the Rockstar Throwback Throwdown and a 10,000 egg Easter egg hunt for skiers and riders of all ages.

April 7 - Rockstar Throwback Throwdown, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Peak 8
In 1984 Breck became Colorado’s first major resort to allow snowboarding , 1985 Breck hosted the first ever Swatch World Snowboarding Championships. As a part of this year’s Breck Spring Fever celebration and to commemorate Breck’s 50th Anniversary, the Rockstar Throwback Throwdown celebrates the progression of snowboarding. This Saturday, guests will witness a legendary competition as pro-athletes take on the Freeway Super Pipe, the longest in the world, and then a specially constructed 6-foot mini-pipe that is an exact replica of the first ever halfpipe built at Breck in 1985. Participating athletes include: Breckenridge Team Riders, Zack Black, Brett Esser, Jake Black, Steve Fisher, Mike Campbell, Silvia Mittermuller, Leslie Glenn, and Rebecca Torr. Other riders include, Luke Mitrani, Danny Davis and Chad Otterstrom.
April 8 – Easter Sunday - 10,000-EASTER EGG HUNT, 8:30 a.m.
You’ll want to ski with your Easter basket in hand this Sunday and hunt for eggs on Peaks 8 & 9 as we distribute over 10,000 plastic Easter eggs on runs across the mountain you can collect and keep.  All will contain treats, and some special eggs will contain fantastic grand prizes. Get there early for your best chance to win. Easter Sunday also includes a sunrise service and multiple brunch options.
