BRECKENRIDGE, Colo., - June 9, 2015 – Breck officially kicks off the summer season with the opening of its famous Summer Fun Park on Friday, June 12 at 9:30 a.m. Uniquely situated on the slopes above the Historic town of Breckenridge, and easily accessible via the FREE BreckConnect Gondola, the Breck Summer Fun Park features activities for all ages, including the Gold Runner Coaster, Alpine Superslide, Breck Treks guided hikes, 4X4 off-road tours, off-road Segway tours, a climbing wall, mini golf and more.
Summer 2015 will also welcome the new Kids’ Base Camp. The base camp focuses on Breck’s youngest guests and will offer three new attractions for children weighing between 30 – 100lbs., including a small kids zipline, kids challenge course and a kids summer tubing hill. The Breckenridge Summer Fun Park will be open daily from 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. through Labor Day; then Friday, Saturday and Sunday the following weekend during Oktoberfest to close out the summer season on September 13. Free parking will be available for guests in the Gondola North parking lot. Locals’ Appreciation Day
Breckenridge Ski Resort invites local residents to donate canned goods for the Family and Intercultural Resource Center (FIRC) and enjoy a sneak peak of the Summer Fun Park on June 11 from 1 – 5p.m. The Fun Park can be accessed via the Breck Free Ride. Featured activities include the Gold Runner Coaster and the Alpine Superslide. Mountain Cleanup Day will be postponed until a later date due to heavy snowpack.
The lingering snow pack is also having an impact on mountain biking programs and Segway tours, which will open at later date; hiking programs and 4x4 off-road tours will be limited. On-Mountain Dining
Fun Park visitors can also enjoy dining during the summer on the spectacular Ski Hill Grill patio conveniently located at One Ski Hill Place at the base of the fun park.  In addition, the T-Bar next door will be open daily starting June 12 from 11 a.m. until the gondola closes. Sevens, on Peak 7, will also be open daily, from 11 a.m. -10 p.m. for both lunch and dinner. Additionally, Sevens will serve all day brunch on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer season.
The Living Room in One Ski Hill Place is another great place to grab a meal at Peak 8. Starting June 19, full summer dinner service begins, with full meal service, including breakfast and lunch starting the next day on June 20. Guests dining with the Living Room well receive a free appetizer with dinner until July 2.
